Avery was expecting this. It was a library after all and for some reason library has always equated to silence, which she found stupid given silence was not only crushing but unattainable in a building filled with chairs, living people, books being thumped onto desks, and where the clicking of keyboards and scratching of pens resonates. On some level she should have some respect for the people in here such as the ones studying around her, and she does, as she respects them for actually studying. She also would have been fine should the person that spoke have not put such an attitude into her tone, but she was on a short fuse today and stopping really wasn’t on her to-do list. She barely misses a beat as she spins on her chair to face the speaker, and without a word continues tapping on her desk instead.
Okay. That wasn’t the greatest way to go about it. Honestly, it wasn’t even the fact that she was making so much noise in the library. The only problem was that Mia studied to her usual classical tunes. They were a lot more calming than the constant sound of the tip of a pen hitting against the edge of the desk. Probably a good thing that Adam hadn’t joined her, otherwise she’d have two grown up children annoying her with the sound. Mia sighed, watching the girl intently as she sat back in her seat, folding her arms across her chest.
